Organizing is very therapeutic for me! I love finding new ways to organize and help keep my life and my family’s life a little less chaotic.
I want to help you with these 12 amazing ways of keeping your life organized!
My husband always talks about how he never even thought about organizing or having things in a certain spot and how his life was just chaotic and a mess until I came along… *yes, a round of applause for me* …and now, he says that he can never go back and how much nicer it is to know where everything is (until I move it around of course) and having a spot for everything.
Not only does this list help your life and home stay organized, it helps your children stay organized and it is able to teach them to clean better without the hassle of just throwing things in random spots (or so you hope!).
Keeping your life organized with these 12 simple steps!
Clean out your purse
This may seem like a small task, but it can make a big difference in how you feel. Take some time each week or every two weeks to go through your purse and remove any old papers, receipts, snacks, or coins that have accumulated. This will not only make your purse feel less cluttered, but also help you keep better track of your belongings. For an added bonus, consider investing in a purse organizer that offers ample space and comes in a variety of colors and sizes.
Want to go the extra mile? Check out this amazing purse that offers so much space for all your little knickknacks you carry around. It comes in so many amazing colors, sizes and gets AMAZING reviews! You can use it as an insert for your purse or simply use it as your purse!
Make daily to-do lists
To-do lists are a must for staying organized. Write down your tasks for the day, either the night before or the morning of, and keep the list with you. This will help you stay on track and accomplish more throughout the day.
To help you stay organized and on top of your list, I created this FREE daily to-do list just for you!
Simply leave your name and email in the form below and it will be sent right over to you 🙂
Clean out your car
How many times have you grabbed the mail on your way out, only to have it pile up in your car? Or found snacks wrappers from weeks ago? Regularly cleaning out your car can make a big difference in how you feel when you’re driving. Take some time each week or every two weeks to remove any garbage, bring in any papers or items left inside, and vacuum the car.
Keep a goals list
Writing down your goals, both big and small, can help you achieve them faster. When you have them in front of you, you are more likely to work towards them. Break down your goals into steps and give yourself small rewards as you progress.
Check out my When Life Hands You Lemons notebook below! It’s cute and gives you 200 pages of notebook space!
Meal Planning
Meal planning can help organize your week and make busy nights less stressful. Take some time each week to plan out your meals and make a grocery list.
Cleaning Schedule
A cleaning schedule is a great way to stay on top of cleaning and keep your home organized. It can also help you know where to start and what to do each day. Check out my daily cleaning list here!
Clean up your email
Emails can accumulate quickly and become overwhelming. Set aside some time every two weeks to go through your inbox, delete any unwanted emails, unsubscribe from email lists that no longer interest you, and organize your emails into folders.
Clean up your desk and work areas
A cluttered workspace can be distracting and make it difficult to focus. Take some time to declutter your desk and work areas, and keep them organized. It is so nice to wake up to a desk that is organized and ready for the day to come!
Organize your spice drawer
Spices can create chaos when trying to organize. Consider using spice jar organizers and labels to make it easier to store and find each spice.
I bought these spice jar organizers and labels and they have been amazing! With them being all the same size, it is so much easier to store and find each spice I am looking for.
Have a drop off zone
Designate a spot for items such as car keys, masks, wallets, and sunglasses to be put away and ready to grab when needed.
It is such a small thing but it makes a huge difference in keeping your life organized!
Declutter your closet
A cluttered closet can make it difficult to find what you’re looking for and make getting dressed in the morning more stressful. Take some time to declutter your closet, get rid of anything you no longer wear, and organize the remaining items.
Keep a Calendar
A calendar can help you stay on top of appointments, deadlines, and important events. Use a physical calendar or a digital one, and keep it in a place where you will see it daily.

Teaching Children Organization
Organization is a valuable skill that should be taught to children from a young age. Encourage your children to keep their rooms and belongings organized, and set an example by keeping your own space organized.
By implementing these 12 simple steps, you can take control of your life and keep your home and family organized. Remember, organizing is a process and it takes time and consistency. But with a little effort, you can create a more peaceful and productive environment for yourself and your family.

Love these simple and easy to implement steps. Such great pay off for such a small change. It’s funny how just making your bed can give you that feeling of accomplishment, now if only my kids would do this without reminders!
With things like e-mail and organization, I find the hardest part is just getting started. Once you have the system, it’s so much easier to keep it up.

Not big on making beds. Something about being constricted when sleeping really bothers me. In fact, when we stay at hotels the first thing I do is pull all the covers off the bed. I love the idea of having a drop-off spot. IF my keys are not in my drop-off spot, I am lost and scramble to find them.

Making my bed in the morning is a non-negotiable for me. It’s the center of a room so when it’s done, the whole room looks more organized.
